The Family of Ibrahim Yakubu II, publicly known as the Awala Family has denied claims by the Greater Accra Regional Police Operations Commander, Chief Supt. Kwesi Ofori that Sariki Ibrahim Yakubu is a known vanguard on the police wanted list.
The family has also urged the Police Chief to publicly apologize for tarnishing the hard-earned reputation of Sariki Ibrahim Yakubu who’s said to be a real estate developer with his false accusation.
Chief Supt. Kwesi Ofori in a media interview accused Sariki Ibrahim Yakubu of being a ring leader of Land guards terrorizing property owners at Tseado, a suburb in the La Dadekotopng Municipality in Accra.
He added that the Police are on a manhunt for him to face the law.
But the family in a press statement stated that Chief Supt. Kwesi Ofori will do himself a great deal of good if he immediately retracts his baseless comment or face court action.
“We have held separate meetings over the said development and have concluded on taking legal action against ACP Kwesi Fori if he fails to retract the falsehood meted out against Sariki Awala as a ring leader of a group of land guards.
“For the records, our Son Sariki Awala, is the CEO of a multi-million cedis registered company, a decent person who respect the rules of law and will never go cheap to support any activities of land guards let alone, becoming a ring leader of an illegitimate group,” the statement added.
