Sekyere East District Chief Executive, Hon. Mary Boatemaa Marfo, is reported to have hired a group of Machomen to chase out executive members of the NPP at Effiduase during a planned meeting by the party to oust the DCE from office over corruption allegations.
Report says the DCE allegedly ordered the Machomen to “stop” the planned meeting and vandalize properties of the executive members fail to obey her commands.
The well built men on Tuesday stormed the party office with sticks and demanded the party executives to pack out from the office – they accused them of masterminding the removal of the DCE from office in an attempt to pass a vote of no confidence in her.
According to the Constituency Secretary, Kwame Ampratwum, the Machomen hit him with a stick which he equally replied.
The Assembly Members, numbering about 16 simply want their DCE removed from office over glaring “incompetence” and “corruption”.
However, the DCE, Mary Boatemaa Marfo in an interview with Peacefmonline.com strongly denied sending the thugs to disrupt the said meeting.
She said the alleged Machomen are “all members of the NPP, they are not Machomen” - adding that “I did not send them anywhere. I have been advised not to talk but at the right time I will.”
