Serbia Foreign Affairs Minister on three-day official visit to Ghana

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs for Serbia, Ivica Dacic has led a delegation to Ghana for a three-day official visit.

The visit which is reciprocal to Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Ministers visit to Serbia in August 2018 is aimed at deepening the bilateral relations between the two countries.

During a meeting between the two ministers, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey reiterated Ghana's readiness to re-open an Embassy in the Republic of Serbia at the appropriate time.

She also acknowledged the contributions made by the Republic of Serbia towards the economic development of Ghana, with particular emphasis on the construction of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) by the EnergoProjekt Company.

The Minister used the opportunity to highlight some flagship programmes of the government which aims at restructuring the economy and create jobs for the youth such as the “One District, One Factory Policy” and the “Planting for Food and Jobs” initiatives.

She further extended an invitation to Serbian investors to partner with Government and the private sector to establish agro-processing factories in Ghana.

During his visit, Ivica Dacic is expected to meet with members of the Judiciary and a number of Ministers, including the Ministers for Defence and Agriculture and the Minister of State for Education.
