If you thought Shatta Wale was going to let MzGee go free for her comments about his Grammy nominations then you got it wrong. Neither was he ready to spare blogger Ameyaw Debrah.

The dancehall guru who will have none of that has taken to social media as usual to ‘tell his mind’.

First, he described the latest addition to Media General, MzGee, as a ‘big disgrace’, noting how her comments expose her ‘agenda’ against him.

Earlier this week, MzGee had an interview with musician Fuse ODG and Ameyaw Debrah on ‘3FM Showbuzz’ to find out if Shatta Wale could be considered as a Grammy nominee. Some comments made by the host turned out to be offensive to Shatta Wale.

“Everybody who gets this video should send it to her, she is a disgrace. See the way she talked, every sensible person in Ghana will see that she’s got agenda,” Shatta Wale fumed with rage and dealt with Ameyaw Debrah on another level, calling him bias and stupid.

Since Beyoncé’s “The Lion King” album earned nomination in the Best Pop Vocal Album category for this year’s Grammys, there has been a controversy over whether or not Shatta Wale is also a nominee considering the fact that he had a collaboration with Beyonce on the said album.

According to blogger Ebenezer Nana Yaw Donkor (NYDJ) who also doubles as a radio presenter at YFM, he personally sent an email to the organisers for clarification on the Shatta Wale Grammys brouhaha and a reply was sent to him to that effect.

“According to a mail received from the Grammy Awards, only Artists who have worked on over 51% playing time of the pop vocal album would be nominees. Any featured artist with less than 51% would not be a nominee. That settles it. Shatta Wale is not a Grammy Nominee," NYDJ's post read.

As the issue came up for discussion on 3FM, Ameyaw Debrah wanted to find out what one has to prove as an artiste who has collaborated on a project nominated for Grammys.

UK-based Ghanaian recording artist, Fuse ODG expressed his disappointment in Ameyaw Debrah and MzGee for attempting to discredit Shatta Wale and also failing to support artiste from Ghana.

Fuse ODG, who was awarded a Grammy’s award for co-writing Ed Sheeran's “Divide” album which won the best vocal pop album at the 2018 Grammy Awards saw the interview as an attempt to discredit Ghanaian artiste and producers.

“I am very disappointed, evidently you have exposed yourself and I understand now... Any song writer on an album automatically becomes a winner as well…once you are part of a project that wins in a Grammy, you are automatically a Grammy winner as well,” he said.

Shatta Wale recently won 5 awards including the Most Influential Artiste at the 4Syte Music Video Awards.
