Soothsayers, Mallams say it’s my time to be President – Stephen Atubiga
National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer hopeful, Stephen Atubiga, has appealed to the to his fellow flagbearer hopefuls who have picked nomination forms to step down for him.
This is because, according to him, soothsayers, Mallams and pastors have said it was his time to rule over Ghanaians.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity. Tell my other colleagues to step down for me. Soothsayers, mallams say it’s my time and even pastors have confirmed that it’s my time so they should give me the opportunity to the rule the country. I have a special place for them,” he said.
Stephen Atubiga was speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Wednesday.
NDC flagbearer aspirants Alban Bagbin, Stephen Atubiga and Sylvester Mensah have both picked forms to contest the presidential primaries of the party in spite of being part of a petition to the party’s Council of Elders over ‘high’ nomination and filing fees.
It brings the number of candidates who have so far picked forms to contest the race to five after former President John Mahama and Professor Joshua Alabi to five.
Though Mr Atubiga had said picking the forms would mean condoning an illegality, his U-turn had surprised many people.
But he has addressed the issue, saying it was his supporters who picked the forms on his blind side.
