The First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Takoradi constituency, Justice Maxwell Acquah, has expressed confidence that the NPP will retain the Takoradi constituency seat in the upcoming general elections.

According to him, the incumbent NPP Member of Parliament (MP), Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, and the flagbearer of the party will help the NPP retain the seat come what may in the 2024 general elections.

He said "The NPP’s victory in the upcoming elections in the Takoradi constituency is certain. But the NPP will not be complacent until the battle is won."

Mr. Acquah, also known as Chairman Basty, was speaking to the media in Takoradi on the various developmental projects executed by the MP within the metropolis, as well as responding to a recent poll by Global Info Analytics that put the NDC candidate, Lawyer Frederick Faidoo in an unassailable lead to win the seat.

He pointed out that the MP has handed over a 60-bed health facility for residents at New Takoradi to ensure effective health care delivery.

“Sekondi-Takoradi road expansion project is ongoing, the Kwame Nkrumah roundabout through to the beach road roundabout is almost completed”.

“The seven-storey, situated on a 11680m2 land area, has a 300-seater auditorium, cafeteria, gymnasium, business centre, as well as private office space for lease to prospective companies and other businesses. It is designed with solar ingress and wind direction in compliance with the government’s policy of ensuring smart energy efficiency” he added.

He said the NPP's Takoradi constituency branch would not relent in reminding voters of the party’s achievements to guarantee a renewal of its mandate for another four years.

He said the people of Takoradi have been voting for the NPP because of the good works the party is doing for the people.

"Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah has been winning in the constituency and even in the backyard of the NDC candidate which is New Takoradi because of the development projects initiated in the area by the NPP governments."

"If over 20,000 residents in the metropolis were able to take part in a health walk organized by the party in the area prior to the NPP's Manifesto Launch in Takoradi, then it means, Kobby is solid on the ground,” he said.

“We still have to work hard and keep reminding people of the good work of the NPP to ensure the party's resounding victory in the Sekondi -Takoradi Metropolis," he added.

In an interview on Radio 360's morning show "Y3nsom," the five-term MP rebuffed the polls saying it is a regular feature that occurs before any election period as the same happened in 2016 and 2020 yet it did not see the light of day.
