The former Akuafo Hall president who wants to be Madina assemblyman

He served on a number of committees while resident at Akuafo Hall (University of Ghana), won several awards including Most Active Junior Common Room (JCR) Member, Most Hardworking JCR Member before vying for the presidency which he won after a keenly contested race.

Macdonald Asare Michael Yaw, popularly known as Romeo now hopes to become the Assemblyman for Madina South Electoral Area with 12 policies tabled for execution.

Among others, he looks forward to advocating employment opportunities for the youth; lobbying for scholarships and also promoting skill training amongst the youth and women towards capacity building; organizing quarterly health screening; embarking on a strict sanitation campaign to promote a clean environment; ensuring safety of the community; marketing talented youths regularly in the media; and organizing annual inter school quizzes and debates.

About Macdonald Asare Michael Yaw (Romeo)

Born and raised in Accra, Romeo attended Madina SDA Preparatory and Junior Secondary School between 1990 and 2000. He proceeded to Presbyterian Boys' Senior High School (PRESEC, Legon) for his secondary education in 2001 before heading to the Ghana Institute of Languages in 2005. In 2009, he gained admission to the University of Ghana for his undergraduate studies. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Events and Project Management/Communication Studies.

Romeo has served as Chief Scout for Miss Ghana 2015 as well as grooming the ladies for the finale. He acted as the Public Relations Officer of the pageant and hosted various outdoor events related to Miss Ghana.

In 2014, he served as a business development manager for Vista Services, suppliers of security gadgets for a period of six months.

Between 2010 and 2013, Romeo was Red Bull’s student brands manager (West Africa). He was in charge of coordination and operations at Evolution International (2011-2012).
