The Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah has stated that the legacy of Ghana's first president, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah transcends time and borders.
Speaking at an event to commemorate the 115th birthday of Dr Nkrumah, he noted that his contribution to African unity and economic emancipation remain profoundly significant today.
"Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is remembered for his remarkable achievement because he is the only president in Africa's history who documented his vision and legacy and laid down a road map for economic emancipation. As we reflect on Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's legacy, we recognise his vision and contributions and note that they remain profoundly relevant today.
"Dr Nkrumah's call for African unity is more critical than 52 years ago. His focus on economic empowerment continues. Many of the macroeconomic policies are being championed by Europe reflecting on the foresight of his vision", he stated.
He described Dr Nkrumah as a visionary leader who dared to dream for a better world.
"Talk about these initiatives, African foreign policy, as we commemorate his 115th birthday his impact transcends time and borders. He was a leader who dared to dream of a better world. The legacy of Dr Nkrumah is immortal and etched in the annuls of history, he left unforgettable footprints of time. it is our responsibility to ensure that this vision continues", he noted.
Ghana’s first post-independence leader, Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah, is globally recognised for his pan-African dreams and ideologies and is remembered for his lasting impact.
