Government has been admonished to ignore payment plan proposed by the embattled businessman, Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome, who risks losing assets worth about GH¢20 million to defray part of the GH¢47.2 million he owes the state.

“We can’t trust woyome. The state should reject any payment plan propose by him”, private legal practitioner, Maurice Ampaw fumed in an interview MyNewsGh.com monitored.

According to him, Lawyer Ampaw who is a public interest advocate, any attempt by the State to negotiate with Mr. Alfred Woyome will amount to the abuse of the court process.

“The state must go ahead with the execution process and retrieve the taxpayers’ money. Woyome end has come”, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw pointed out.

It would be recalled Mr. Woyome recently revealed he was ready to sit down with the government to agree on terms to repay the GH¢51.2 million debt he owes the State after two recent rulings by African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights in Arusha, Tanzania and Supreme Court of Ghana against him.

“It will not be a difficult task for me…If I have to go for a loan fine. I am ready to sit with the government for us to agree on how the money will be repaid”, Mr. Woyome expressed his readiness to repay the amount owed the state in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com and urged all his supporters not to bastardize the judiciary for any reason.

According to him, he has started paying part of the money to the government, therefore, will find other means to settle the rest of the amount as a good citizen of Ghana.

“I am a good citizen and law-abiding. I will make sure that whatever the African Court the government will comply and work with it”, Mr. Woyome assured.

But Mr. Maurice Ampaw is doubtful if the businessman can be trusted with such a promise insisting the state must enforce the court’s directive to the latter.
