Vincent Atinga lands in Malaysia in search of move abroad
Citi Sports checks have revealed that former Accra Hearts of Oak defender Vincent Atinga has arrived in Malaysia to negotiate for a deal with one of the country’s top division clubs.
Atinga left Hearts of Oak at the end of the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League season after his contract expired.
Since then the 26 year old has been in search of a club abroad after disclosing he will no longer be interested in playing in the local league.
The identity of the Malaysian club is unknown to Citi Sports despite repeated efforts to get the information from the player’s camp but it’s understood to be in the top division. Sources close to the player say that he has signed a one-year deal with the said club.
Citi Sports can also disclose that Atinga has turned down moves to the USA with Major League Soccer clubs such as Philadelphia Union and New England Revolution registering concrete interests in the tough-tackling center back.
