Former presidential staffer under the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) Stanislav Dogbe has called on the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to take interest in the alleged tax waiver of $24 million granted to his in-law to put up a hotel rather than focus on the Airbus scandal in which, he argues, Ghana lost no money.

Reacting on social media to the President's directive that the Office of the Special Prosecutor investigate the airbus scandal in which monies were allegedly paid to intermediaries to facilitate the securing of a deal with the Government of Ghana, Mr Dogbe stressed that Ghana lost no money in the deals to acquire three aircraft for the military.

“…Finally, the SP will have some work to do. But please, Mr. Akufo-Addo, given that Gov’t of Ghana did not lose any money in this Airbus matter, and yet you are willing to attempt some so-called investigation, just asking, why won’t you rather investigate the nepotism-induced $24m tax waiver you gave to your in-law which will be at a cost to the taxpayer?” he quizzed.

He added that alleged corruption scandals such as the PDS deal have not been forgotten.

“The criminal PDS scandal involving your family and cronies is also still fresh in our minds ooo!” he added.

Airbus SE has agreed to pay several billions of pounds to the UK, US and France for violating laws with respect to how they secured contracts in some twenty countries including Ghana.
