President of National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) Angel Carbonu has called out former Mfantsipim classroom teacher Kwamena Duncan who is now Central Regional Minister under the Akufo-Addo government for being a symbol of how low Ghana politics has sunk; MyNewsGH.com reports.

Mr. Carbonu and Kwamena Duncan clashed on Asempa FM where NAGRAT was making a case for why they teamed up with other teacher unions to declare a strike action pending the clearance of their arrears.

Kwamena Duncan who called into the show described the NAGRAT strike as illegal and unprincipled as the arrears they are pursuing were piled up by the erstwhile National Democratic Congress government of John Mahama. He called on them to call off their illegal strike as they have no case.

Mr. Carbonu however did not take his statement lightly, wondering why someone who was until recently “a staff common room teacher” was not sympathetic to his colleagues’ course.

“You [Duncan] are an apology of a politician… People like this a few months were sitting in staff common room with us… your colleague teachers have worked they have not been paid and see how you’re talking… self aggrandizement… you also call yourself a regional minister…” Angel Carbonu fired.

“My attitude hasnt changed…. In fact I am more attached to the profession… so you think if I am a teacher and I have capacity and capability, I shouldn’t become a minister?” Kwamena Duncan replied.

“You [Carbonu] are portraying a certain spirit of jealousy…. you are going on a path which is not proper”, Kwamena Duncan fumed more.

“I am not one of the people who admire your tantrums on radio in anyway… you call yourself a minister?” Angel Carbonu shot back.

“Don’t bring yourself… You’re a reflection of the way politics has fallen in this country.. You’re not the type of character I will admire.” The NAGRAT boss added.
