Fifi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has issued strong warnings to individuals who will assume office under the incoming NDC government, emphasizing a strict approach to governance.

Speaking in an interview with Joy News, Kwetey stressed that the party’s efforts to secure the trust of Ghanaians must not be squandered by any form of misconduct or arrogance by appointees.

Kwetey cautioned that there would be no tolerance for behaviors similar to those attributed to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during its tenure.

He emphasized that the incoming administration must prioritize the interests of the Ghanaian people over party politics, signaling a shift from traditional practices often associated with governance.

“The NDC must appreciate that this reset agenda is not just about taking the NPP out. Charity must begin at home,” Kwetey stated.

He underscored his commitment to ensuring that appointees uphold the values and promises that the party campaigned on.

He further highlighted the importance of meritocracy, insisting that capable individuals, regardless of their political affiliations, should be entrusted with critical responsibilities.

Kwetey reaffirmed his resolve to challenge any actions that deviate from the principles of accountability and service to the nation.

For the General Secretary, the NDC’s governance must set a new standard, proving that the party’s commitment to change extends beyond rhetoric to meaningful action.
