It is a shame Bharti Airtel is leaving Ghana. However the government must brace itself and take it as an opportunity. This shows that in the Global and corporate business world governments must prepare for such eventualities. The Government must put multi-stakeholder task force to deal with this takeover even as it busies itself with election. Immediately it must encourage public sector institutions to acquire new telephone lines from AirtelTigo.
It must also be ready to deal with accusations from other operators like Vodafone and MTN of preferential treatment. The transaction advisors must be transparent so it does not become another VODAFONE FIASCO. Doe this need parliamentary approval as parliament is expected to rise very soon
