If you are a Ghanaian who witnessed the Gold Coast, its transition to commonwealth Ghana, and then to Republic Ghana, the creation of the infrastructure that we enjoy today, and those that our revolutionist redeemers sold cheaply to themselves and foreigners, the quality of our education, and our nascent manufacturing base, then regardless of what tribe you're from, you would have been proud to be a Ghanaian. Even some Nigerian in London were calling themselves "Ghanaians". It's amazing that foreign students get our history right, but our own Ghanaians seem to study our history with half-brain. "And here, it is significantly instructive to observe that none of the myriad putsches and coup detats have been staged by any other than bona fide members of the Ghanaian military. Granted, some rascal civilians are known to have staunchly backed regressivley Darwinian means of political access, including a world-renowned University-educated former prime minister. Interestingly, in July 1956, when President Nkrumah's Convention People's Party (CPP) won a landslide victory, Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia rode herd on a delegation to the British office in London, to petition the British Crown, and Ghana's extant colonial overlord, to desist from granting the already-scheduled return of Ghana to self-governance. Fortunately, Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia and his right-wing bourgeois reactionaries did not succeed. He would, however, succeed ten years later in backing the military junta that unseated the Nkrumah administration and facilitated the precipitous devolution of Ghanaian national destiny.
Indeed, it is interesting to observe that Ghana's major and, to-date, only international airport is named for General E.K. Kotoka, the very Darwinian outlaw who spearheaded the grossly unimaginative overthrow of the constitutionally elected government of the CPP. For many detractors and outright enemies of Nkrumah, Kotoka's greatest—if also sole—achievement was simply getting rid of an elected dictator. It has often been said, largely by Western academics, that Nkrumah was a heartless and fatuous dictator; these days, one hears Mr. Jerry John Rawlings, the career soldier who ran Ghana for twenty harrowing incontrovertibly bloody years, described as a "benign dictator." It is significant to observe that Mr. Rawlings, whose agnatic parentage is purported to be Scottish, presided over the dastardly kidnapping and summary execution of three Ghanaian supreme court judges, all of whom belonged to a single ethnic nationality.
When one agrees with the Western ideological mythology that Nkrumah was a raw-boned dictator bereft of vision, then it begins to make sense that Kotoka's statue should continue to command the august facade of Accra International Airport, thus perpetually humiliating those of us who incurably believe in democratic governance. Needless to say, the 1966 Kotoka-led coup initiated the barbaric, neo-colonial military dynasty that Ghanaian continue to suffer….
That Ghana's post-colonial political dilemma transcends military dictatorship cannot be honestly gainsaid. In fact, many of the most vociferous civilian opposition party leaders, some of whom are currently sitting in parliament, representing misguided and hoodwinked constituents, are known to have collaborated with Kotoka's so-called National Liberation Council to unseat President Nkrumah. It is also significant to observe that these largely superannuated rascals and executive national, fiduciary muggers continue to dominate whatever passes by the name of "the legitimate opposition." This state of affairs, coupled with a largely under-educated and under-informed electorate, has made it almost impossible to rectify the prevailing socioeconomic chaos ravaging the country.”

The senior Okoampa was a Ghana Young Pioneer Instructor. He taught us patriotism. There was never any talk of divisive tribalism and disrespect towards the other. Whiles Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson and Wiston Churchill profess the superiority of one race the Blanco race over other races Kwame Nkrumah stated that every race in the world played his part in human civilization and thus one human race must not oppress the other.
After Ghana's independence Nkrumah did not allot the superiority of the Negroid race over others and confined them to a position less than that of the white man's dog. But that was exactly what Lincoln, Jefferson and Churchill did and it is a fact that when Kwame Nkrumah call for the brotherhood of all the races the "sages" in the west still had racial segregation laws in their constitutions.
Whiles Britain because of its history could not ban the freedom of thought, conscience an association in Britain it was a law punishable by 15 years imprisonment to be a member of the socialist or communist parties in the British colonies.
The current U.S. constitution bare the U.S. Socialist and Communist parties from both congress and senate. Even no U.S. company will employ you if it knows that you are a communist or a socialist.

When Dr.J.B. Danquah and Prof. Kofi Abrefa Busia were in the United States of America they rode in cabins designated by the constitution of that country at that time to be meant for dogs and Negroes because they accepted that they are inferior to the Blanco.
When Ghana's Minister of Finance in 1962 Mr. Komla Agbeli Gbedema was in the U.S. he could not be sheepish like his fellow countrymen namely Danquah and Busia who sees nothing wrong with the infringement of the rights of Negroes in the U.S. It is also on record that Danquah and Busia supported the fascist colonial Italy, Spain and Portugal in Africa as well as apartheid in Southern Africa.
Dr. Okoampa-Ahoofe in order not to spew your ignorance about the topic of inclusiveness which was not accorded to Negroes in both Britain and the U.S. until 1975. You decided to raise it to the highest level of accusing Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah of not practicing inclusiveness.
When J.B. Danquah lost his seat in parliament the all inclusive president Kwame Nkrumah appointed him the Director of the Council for Arts and Sciences, a position of trust and respect that the former refused and chose to work for foreign intelligence agencies against Ghana and her people.
Lt. General Joseph Ankrah who became the chairman of the National Liberation Council was appointed as a presidential staff by Nkrumah after he was relieved from the army.
It is also on record that because of his patriotism Nkrumah has to save the various fragmented opposition political parties from further squabble by suggesting to Dr. Busia that he should as a leader of the opposition name his party United Party.
Dr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe you said that you teach languages, meaning that you studied philology, but the problem with you is that perhaps you know modern English and not the history of its development.
It looks like you do not speak any Ghanaian language, thus can not write the truth when the issue is with Ghana.

You were brought up to see nothing good in him, nor his vision, sacrifice and sheer dedication to our NATION (not to talk of the whole of the African continent).
Therefore no one should expect anything good from you on this subject.
I however hope that like your stance on everything currently going on in Ghana (including the election petition), you stance on ALL MATTERS rest purely on your direct relationship to some of the protagonists. There is also one thing that will always be true about Nkrumah, good and bad, and that is he did come back to Ghana within ten (10) years after leaving for his studies outside Ghana.
It is painful, however, to watch Okoampa-Ahoofe expose his intellectual inferiority through his articles on ghanaweb while counting on a gullible fan base of tribal miscreants to gobble his brand of revisionist history. It is sad Ghanaians have infactuated with doctorate degree holders irrespective of study discipline. I will take a known crooked Ghanaian police officer any day of the week over a Ghanaian with PhD in English. I know at the very least what the peace officer is capable of but damn sure would not know if Okoampa-Ahoofe can either compete with an Englishman, British or American, over what it means to be syntactically correct or the original intent of any English word.

Nkrumah built Akosombo dam at a time we did not need all its energy-generating capacity. He knew, that we would need it before long as we set up industries. He knew that we would need to continue increasing energy production, so initiated the Bui dam, Barekese dam and others.
