Ghanaians will always repeat history instead of learning from it. We claim to be a football loving country but we can spend $20,000 a month on a coach who cannot even write his name on paper let alone make a meaning of a plan. I am very very disappointed. No country under the sun will even pay Akwasi Appiah $100 a month for such a coach. If Ghana had recruited a sports coach from any of the institutions in Ghana would have been better.

Our problem in the Netherlands game was that we did not create chances and did not threaten the Netherlands goal.
This is football, every team will conceede a goal now and then. If the defence was so poor, and Netherlands could "nonchalantly march" their way into our box, why didn't they score more?
Germany "nonchalantly marched" their way into Cameroon's goal TWICE. The problem for Germany was that Cameroon also "nonchalantly marched" into the German goal TWICE!! That is why no body is complaining about Cameroon, because they also scored to tie the match. Ghana on the other hand only had 2 or so shots on target the whole article. How a sports Journalist can look at that and say our problem in that game was the defence beats me!

It is the pairing of the central defence and/or the parings of the full backs that might have caused the problem.
It is not a matter of having "good defenders" that matters in soccer; it is who and who are paired to play the 4 and 5, who and who are paired to play the 2 and 3?
Against Holland, the problem might have been with the forwards. If we had responded with fire and tormented their goal area for a while, they would have recoiled into their shells!

It is also always easier for the Opponents to focus on the singular striker to frustrate him. When there are multiple strikers, the Opponents defense is always on thorns to figure out who is going to make the next drive to the goal.
I think Teams with 4-3-3 formations when they have speedy full backs and a midfielder are always most potent.
Our players must fast develop tactical patience and better anticipation.

The breakdown leading to the goal started and should be credited to nkum. He failed to markout sneider. He. Lost concentration as sneider hid behind a fellow dutch player as a screen to diffuse nkum. Then as soon as nkum moved right. Sneider run between nkum and I believe sumaila. Took the pass and passed it to robben. It happened so fast but nkum should have calculated, read the move proper. He committed him self too early on the play and dats wat lead to the goal.

The defence is fine. They will conceede one or two here and there, but we should make sure we are also scoring goals!
Or you guys want to play 11 defenders, get 3 0-0 draws and get sent back home with 3 points in the bag? or what? I really dont understand this fixation with the defence.
Ghana's problem has ALWAYS been scoring goals. From the days of Tony Baffour and co, our defence has always been ok, our midfield, strong. Our weakness, even with Anthony Yeboah and Abedi, was putting the ball in the back of the net (Im talking of weakness on the field, not all the back room fighting that went on).
You guys are so focussed on the defence that you see it as a problem when it is not. Its a bit like a black man walks into a store to honestly buy some stuff, and all the security guys start watching him, meanwhile the white guy is stealing the stuff but no one is watching him cos they are all looking at the black guy. All you people can see is defense, defense, defense, meanwhile Black stars are registering 2 shots on target in 90 minutes.
Cameroon conceeded 2 goals, but are you complaining about them? No. Why? because they also scored 2 goals.
Infact, Germany that we are all afraid of conceeded 2 goals, but is the whole country crying about their defence? NO.
Come on guys, be objective for a bit........ im not insulting anyone, merely stating facts.

The reason why no one is talking about the attack is because Gyan did not feature in the match. Of course we have a problem in attack but we also do in defence. Our attack will turn out fine once the tournament commences but it is scary to think of how the defenders will respond when the Germans are pressing to score. And trust me on this one, we will be defending a lot in that game and try to catch them on the break.

Deploying both Inkoom and Adomah at the right side is every opponent's dream come true. So far, we have sucked throughout every non-African friendly match. Somehow I have a feeling Kwesi Appiah is going to experiment against South Korea as well. He does not believe in winning friendlies and sees it as another avenue to test fringe players.....
Forget the fact that the World Cup starts very soon. He is of the view that what he does in training is adequate enough to play the World Cup games. That is a VERY VERY dangerous view and will cause our early exit.

Ghana's match against Netherlands was just a friendly match. Ghana did not use its starting eleven. Friendly matches are different. Anybody who has referenced Van Gal' notes taking during the match must be suffering from inferiority complex. Every coach has his style. In 2002, Luiz Felipe Scolari won the world cup without taking a note. In 2006 he reached the semi final of the world cup with Portugal without taking a single note. Sven Goran Ericksson does no take notes. I can site so many examples. But it will be a waste of time. The two coaches who took Ghana to the last two world cups, were they ever spotted taking notes? Suffice it to say that some of you don't have analytical minds.

I HAVE ANOTHER VIEW ABOUT OUR BLACK STARS:
They are well, able, poised, energetic, uncompromising, well prepared entity that fear no foe.
I believe without any doubt,if DENMARK SHOULD HAVE MET THE BLACK STARS,IN THIS WORLD CUP,THEY MIGHT HAVE GONE HOME CRYING LIKE BABIES.
DENMARK,can never score Ghana in the WORLD CUP,PERIOD.
WHAT CAN HELP GHANA?
That's what they need today, but not something that can bring their faith, spirit, enthusiasm, poise, energy down.
LET'S GIVE THEM OUR MORAL SUPPORT AND BACK THEM WITH PRAYER,FOR THEIR PROTECTION,WISDOM,FAITH,ONENESS,AND ONE MIND,BODY AND SOUL,to approach and execute the game-plan,as laid down by their coaches,to come up with the trophy.
THAT'S WHAT I THINK,THEY NEED FROM US NOW.
