A Former Minister of Trade, Industry and Presidential Special Initiatives, John Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten says what Ghana urgently needs is a transformational leader to turn its fortunes around.

He said that leader can only be provided by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in him.

Mr Kyeremanten made these remarks on Wednesday, June 18 when he picked nomination forms to contest the party’s presidential primary scheduled to be held on December 6.

The Former Minister was at the party’s headquarters to become the seventh person to pick forms to contest for the leadership race of the party for the 2016 elections.

He was received and handed the forms by Sammy Crabbe, the Second Vice Chairman of the party.

“What I believe Ghana needs now is a transformational leader who can combine vision with action…to lead our party to victory in 2016,” he stated.

The former Ghanaian envoy will contest the race for the third time after doing so in 2008 and 2010.

He will face competition from the man he lost twice to, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, Francis Addai Nimoh, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Joe Ghartey and Kofi Osei Ameyaw, who have all picked forms at GH¢10,000 each.
