Motorists in search of Diesel were turned away Tuesday, July 1 as most fuel stations had run out of stock, TV3 has gathered.

The situation comes as the country is recovering from days of shortage of petroleum.

But the Ghana Chamber of Bulk Distribution Companies (BDCs) has calmed fears, attributing the shortage in Diesel to a break in the supply chain as a result of concentration on petrol.

“But we are now back to normal loading where we load more evenly,” Senyo Hosi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber told TV3 on Wednesday, July 2.

He said by Friday, July 4, the situation would normalize.

“I don’t expect us to see this chaotic situation next week,” he assured.

He said the same break in the supply chain affected supply to the northern regions of the country and the BDCs are working hard to even the supply.

Already, 22,000 litres of petrol and 6.25 million litres of Diesel have been dispatched to the various fuel stations in order to meet demands from the motoring public.
