CONVERTING POLYTECHNICS INTO UNIVERSITIES CANNOT BE THE ANSWERS TO OUR ECONOMIC BACKWARDNESS,UNDERDELOPMENT AND EXTREME POVERTY IN GHANA.
POLLYTECHNICS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TRAINING OF MIDDLE LEVEL PROFESSIONAL SKILLS, ARTISANS,TECHNICIANS, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTS,DRAUGHTMASHIP,BUILDING TRADES, ROAD CONSTRUCTION AND HOME ECONOMICS AND TO SUPPORT THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF A COUNTRY.
ONE HAS TO ASK THE APPOINTED COMMITTE
WHAT KIND OF ''DENT'' HAVE THE S CALLED PUBLIC UNIVERSISTIES IN THE COUNTRY PLAYED IN THE ECONOMIC GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF GHANA.
THE MANY PRODUCTS FROM UNIVERSITIES CONTINUE TO IDLE AT THE PUBLIC SECTOR FOR NON PRODUCTIVE WORK IN THE COUNTRY.
WHAT HAS THE TURNING OF TARKWA TECHNICAL SCHOOL ONCE THE BACKBONE IN PRODUCING ARTISANS AND TECHNICIANS TO ACCELERATE INDUSTRIALIZATION TO UNIVERSITY OF MINES MADE TO THE ECNOMIC ADVANCEMENT IN THE COUNTRY.
WHERE ARE THE PRACTICAL PROFEESIONAL PROFESSORS AND LECTURERS TO RUN THESE SO CALLED UNIVERSITIES.
IT IS A PITY WE DO NOT STILL KNOW WHY WE ARE ECONOMIC BACKWARD, UNDERDEVELOPED AND POOR.
IS IT NOT A SHAME TO HAVE PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES,NOISY EDUCATED PROFESSORS AND LECTURERS IN THE MIDST OF EXTREME POVERTY IN GHANA.

Govt is unable to finance Getfund projects, NHIS, etc, etc, etc so how are they going to find the money to fund Technical Universities? The reality? Production of mere academics like the Universities. Mark it on the wall!!!

Our stupidity is now beyond repair...Instead of boosting the polytechnics so that we'll have potential technical-know-how minded individuals we want universities...
It is certainly ghanaians fault; with our warped minds, we praise people and give them audience if they attended universities...We almost see them us better than the others being it poly or training institude, so why won't poly students yearn for university qualification.
we as blacks always demonstrate that we a based, without brains indeed...
we never want to understand and know how things work but rather we covet credentials on university papers above all things...No wonder we will always be subservient

Mr. PRO without name, we don't need figures all we are asking for is to make public the assessment report. You are dealing with intellectuals so do what is expected of you. what was the pass mark out of the 16point? if it was 12 then the best you and president Mahama could have done was to provide the others with facilities they needed and covert all 10 at the same time. When you go to your office, sit down and think about the implications of what your ministry has done.
I believe the rectors were given the initial assessment report. Please Cpoly rector I know you guys have fm station (Eagle Fm)which is linked to peace fm the official mouthpiece of Ghanaians. Please do as a great favour make public the report if you have it. your position as rector is not political so please help us unveil the truth.
To NTCE and Okudjeto, 10 out of 16 is 63% and in academia 63% is a good result. Prof (NTCE boss) I know your have better intentions regarding better educational systems in Ghana so please advice President Mahama to do the right thing.
I just can't get it why a whole tertiary educations should be under the care of Okudjeto. Is it because of propaganda or what. Ghanaians should forgive the minister because she is at the wrong place at the right time.
