Moody's rating is 'an upgrade' - Economist tells B

DR JOHN GATSI, WHAT HAS THE NDC AND PRESIDENT JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA GOT TO CELEBRATE ABOUT? YOU AND JOHN MAHAMA AND BAWUMIA ARE CONFUSING MAJORITY OF US GHANAIANS WITH POOR KNOWLEDGE IN ECONOMICS. LET'S MAKE THE MOODY RATING CHANGES SIMPLE FOR THE ORDINARY GHANAIAN, LIKE ME TO UNDERSTAND. IS IT NOT SIMPLY THIS: "GHANA'S ECONOMY WAS MOVING UP (B plus rating) WHEN NDC TOOK OVER FROM NPP". IS THAT CORRECT?
"UNDER NDC THE ECONOMY STOPPED MOVING UPWARDS AND STARTED MOVING DOWNWARDS AND HAS BEEN MOVING DOWN SINCE" (B negative rating). IS THIS ALSO CORREC?
TODAY, MOODY IS SAYING, "THE ECONOMY HAS STOPPED MOVING DOWNWARDS - IT IS NO LONGER MOVING DOWNWARDS, AND IT IS NOT MOVING UPWARDS EITHER!. IS THIS ALSO CORRECT? IS THIS NOT STILL THE B negative rating?
OR CONSIDER THIS: "A CAR IS MOVING FORWARD. A NEW DRIVER TAKES OVER AND THE CAR BEGINGS REVERSING. IF THE NEW DRIVER MANAGES TO STOP THE CAR FROM REVERSING, AND THE CAR HAS NOT MOVED FORWARD, MUST THE NEW DRIVER WHO CAUSED THE CAR TO REVERSE TAKE ANY CREDIT?
HAS MOODY INTERNATIONAL STATED THAT GHANA'S ECONOMY IS RATED B plus? PRESIDENT MAHAMA THE HISTORIAN AND DR GATSI THE ECONOMIST SAY "MAHAMA AND HIS TEAM SHOULD CELEBRATE FOR MANAGING TO STOP THE CAR FROM REVERSING" - A SELF-IMPOSED PROBLEM. AND DR BAWUMIA THE ECONOMIST SAYS, "MAHAMA AND TEAM HAVE NOTHING TO REJOICE ABOUT, FOR THE CAR IS STILL NOT MOVING FORWARDS". HAS BAWUMIA INSULTED PRESIDENT MAHAMA OR THE NDC? WHAT DO GHANAIANS EXPECT FROM THE DRIVER OF THE ECONOMIC VEHICLE? MOVING FORWARD BEYOND THE B plus POINT, I SUPPOSE. DR JOHN GATSI, "B negative STABLE AND B plus ARE NOT ALL POSITIVE.
