May her soul rest in peace. If the woman was complaining of being haunted, the husband should have known that she was mentally ill. Meanwhile, there's nothing in the story saying that they even consulted spiritualists or herbalists to help her.
My thinking is that she was probably just ignored as we always ignore "mad" people.
We need a long-term plan.
In addition to the goal of getting a 100-percent literacy rate, by, say, 6th March, 2057, greater emphasis ought to be laid on recruiting more people into medical training that encourages specialisation in, detection of, treatment of, and even curing of, mental-health issues.
It all depends on our leaders' and their successors' visions for the country.
We're, sadly, going to have more of such, as the scramble for one's daily bread and a higher standard of living continues.

The husband should be questioned, he came back from a long journey and asked about his wife before he went home? People have gotten away with murder in Africa with those spiritual garbage.
