POLWA marked its 30th anniversary in the Ashanti Region
Wives of police officers across the country have been advised to stop gossiping and concentrate on helping their husbands to discharge their professional duties by protecting lives and property in the country.
National President of Police Wives Association (POLWA) and wife of the Inspector General of Police, Mrs. Tina Apeatu who gave the advice said: “Please let us stop gossiping at barracks to end unnecessary quarrels”
Speaking to members at the lunch of 30th Anniversary of the founding of POLWA, Ashanti Regional branch, she pointed out to members the need for them to desist from uncultured practice so to give peace to their husbands.
Celebrated under the theme: ‘Empowering Wives to Support their Husbands to Succeed at Work’, the wife of the IGP said ‘You are with your husband to give him peace and not problems’.
Mrs. Tina Apeatu stated that wives are the first to complement the commitment of their husbands in the line of their duties and ensure good work sounds in their minds.
She also revealed that the Association has set up endowment fund to help members and their spouses who will face any form of challenge in the line of their work adding it will later announce modalities as to who qualifies to benefit from the fund.
The Ashanti Regional Commander, COP Ken Yeboah also appealed to POLWA members to be supportive to their husbands for them to discharge their duties well asking them to maintain the barracks clean and tidy at all time.
