Akufo-Addo’s statement on Special Prosecutor ann

The Special Prosecutor will be meaningless unless the office is allowed to investigate, and potentially prosecute, all cases of suspected wrongdoing since 1981 for which a conflict of interest exists for the usual prosecuting authority. This means that Amidu should begin from the PNDC era, then move on to NDC Part 1, and NPP Part 1 before NDC Part 11. NPP Part 11 will follow suit.

Starting to investigate NDC Part 11 appointees and those connected to them will mean that the appointment is not intended to a nation building, but an attempt to witch-hunt.

Since corruption is our biggest obstacle to development, we need to know the truth about many issues, such as:

overseas education of the children of presidents, minsters and government officials, etc.
the sale and purchase of Nsawam Canary and other factories, and public assets
ownership of hotels and houses in and outside the country
the acquisition of property on Afram Plains and elsewhere by any public official
foreign and local bank accounts
ownership of vehicles
