NONSENSE!!!!!!!

“Given the circumstances, especially with regards to the global outlook, the Committee decided to maintain the Monetary Policy Rate at 17 per cent while closely monitoring developments in the near-term. The Committee stands ready to take the appropriate policy measures to promptly address any potential threats to the disinflation path”. Ernest Addison (Governor)

This partisan governor's statements are designed to promote his paymasters, NPP. How do you keep policy rate at 17% when the economy is growing at 6.8%
GDP?

The very idea that a partisan governor gives economic update is beyond me. In many advanced economies, there is a body purposely charged to give economic updates. In my neck of wood here in Canada, it is the Conference Board of Canada that gives economic updates, not the Governor of Bank of Canada.

The fact that Presidents of Ghana appoint the Governor of BoG, and each President chooses the man he wants as Governor gives way to conflict of interest. How can any citizen with sound mind believe the partisan governor's economic update? The Ghanaian system of appointing governors by the president must change otherwise it will be garbage in, garbage out.
