European football specialist, Reuben Obodai brings you first installment update of how Ghanaian players performed in abroad between Friday and Saturday.

Despite the poor goal return over the past two days, most of the players exhibited fantastic performance for their various clubs.

The most refreshing of them all was Kwadwo Asamoah’s superb display in Inter Milan’s win over Udinese. Asamoah looked like a man on a mission after last Tuesday’s horror show.

Christian Atsu started his third game on a row for Newcastle United as the Magpies defeated Huddersfield Town. The former Chelsea winger played a huge role in the victory.

Abednego Tetteh is gradually becoming a household name in India after two his jaw-dropping displays in the second-tier league. Tetteh scored a brace on his debut for the club and kept up that form in his second match by providing an assist in their draw on Saturday.

ENGLAND

Jordan Ayew lasted 78 minutes for Crystal Palace as they defeated Leicester City 1-0. Jeffrey Schlupp was introduced in the 65th minute for the victors. Daniel Amartey missed the match for the losers through injury.

Newcastle United pipped Huddersfield by one goal to nil. Christian Atsu enjoyed another stellar performance for the Magpies and played 90 minutes. Collin Quaner returned from a long injury lay-off to warm the bench for the losers.

Dennis Odoi played full throttle for Fulham FC as they were beaten 2-0 at home by West Ham United.

In the Championship, Andy Yiadom played 90 minutes for Reading FC in their 1-1 stalemate with Rotherham.

Albert Adomah missed Aston Villa 2-2 draw with Stoke City through injury.

In League One, Tarique Ofosu lasted a full period of action for Charlton Athletic in their 2-0 win over AFC Wimbledon. Brendan Wiredu warmed the bench for the victors but Kwesi Appiah was excluded from the losers matchday squad.

Joe Dodoo made the 60th-minute introduction for Blackpool FC in their 2-0 defeat at Oxford United.

In League Two, David Amoo cameoed for Cambridge United in their goalless draw with Yeovil Town.

Hiram Boateng missed Exeter United 1-0 win over Crew Alexandria through injury.

Bernard Mensah warmed the bench for Lincoln City in their 3-1 win over Morecambe.

Koby Arthur was an unused substitute for Macclesfield in their 2-0 win over Crawley Town.

Alex Addai made a brief appearance for Cheltenham Town as they drew 2-2 with Port Vale.

In the FA Trophy, Immanuelson Duku scored for Barnet in their 3-2 win over Bath FC.

Nortei Nortey played 90 minutes for Dover Athletic in their 2-2 draw with Havant and Waterlooville.

Duane Ofori-Acheampong warmed the bench for Woking in their 1-1 draw with Maidstone.

SPAIN

Thomas Partey came on in the 60th minute for Atletico Madrid as they recorded their first in three months away win in the league after beating Real Valladolid.

In the Segunda Division, Richard Boateng warmed the bench for Real Oviedo when they were pipped 1-0 at Granada.

Yaw Yeboah played 61 minutes for CD Numancia in their 2-1 home loss to Albacete Balompie.

Iddrisu Baba warmed the bench for Real Mallorca in their 1-0 loss at Sporting Gijon. Isaac Cofie was left out of the victors matchday squad.

ITALY

Kwadwo Asamoah played full throttle for Inter Milan in their 1-0 win over Udinese. Nicholas Opoku was an unused substitute for the losers.

In the Seria B: Bright Addae lasted 64 minutes for Ascoli in their 1-1 draw with Cittadella.

Emmanuel Gyasi rescued a point for Spezia in their 1-1 draw with Perugia.

Hans Nunoo Sarpei warmed the bench for VfB Stuttgart in their 2-1 win over Hertha Berlin. Derrick Luckassen missed the action for the losers through injury.

Kasim Nuhu played 90 minutes for TSG Hoffenheim when they played a pulsating goalless draw with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Baba Rahman was excluded from Schalke’s matchday team that played 1-1 draw with Augsburg,

In the Bundesliga 2, Joseph-Claud Gyau played 23 minutes for Duisburg when they lost 2-1 at home to Hamburger SV. Kwateng Moritz and Aaron Opoku were not included in the victors matchday squad

Kingsley Schindler played full throttle for Holstein Kiel when they lost 2-1 at home to Armenia Bielefeld. Prince Owusu Osei was not part of the victors matchday squad likewise Noah Awuku.

Bernard Kyere played full throttle and was booked for Fortuna Koln when they played a pulsating 1-1 draw with Grossapach.

Bernard Tekpetey played 90 minutes for SC Paderborn 07 in their 3-0 win over SG Dynamo Dresden. Christian Antwi-Adjei lasted 76 minutes for the victors.

David Atanga played the entire duration for Greuther Furth when they lost 2-0 at St. Pauli. Christopher Avevor enjoyed the full period of action for the victors.

Jan Gyamerah played full throttle for VfL Bochum when they were walloped 2-0 at Union Berlin.

In Bundesliga 3, Ghanaian midfielder Kevin Weidlich picked a booking but lasted 90 minutes for Energie Cottbus in their 1-0 home loss against Eintracht Braunschweig. Steffan Nkansah enjoyed another 90 minutes for the victors.

Braydon Manu picked a booking before being taken off in the 81st minute for Hallescher in their 3-0 loss against Karlsruher.

Phil Ofosu-Ayeh missed Hansa Rostock's 1-1 draw with Aalen through injury.

Marcel Appiah was left out of VfL Osnabruck matchday squad that recorded a 1-1 draw at Unterhaching.

Grejohn Kyei made a brief appearance for RC Lens in their goalless draw with Clermont.

Lawrence Ati Zigi once again watched from the bench for Sochaux when they lost 3-0 to Red Star.

Ebenezer Assifuah warmed the bench for Le Havre in their 1-1 against GFC Ajaccio.

PSV whitewashed Heracles 4-0 in the Eredivisie. Cody Gakpo warmed the bench for the victors.

Jonathan Opoku played 90 minutes for VVV Venlo when they lost 2-1 to Vitesse.

Myron Boadu missed AZ Alkmaar 2-1 home win over Excelsior through injury.

In the Eerste Division, Asumah Abubakar was an unused substitute for Maastricht as they pipped NEC Nijmegen 1-0.
