The University of Ghana has dismissed reports that it has suspended investigations into the ‘sex for grades’ saga.

According to the Director of Public Affairs of the University, a five-member fact-finding committee has been set up to receive complaints from victims and non-victims.

Speaking on TV3’s Midday Live on Thursday, October 17, Stella Amoa said the information out there that investigations have been suspended “is incorrect”.

The reports were fueled by the suspension of investigations by the Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee, which was looking into allegations against Professor Ransford Gyampo and Dr Paul Kwame Butakor over the BBC investigative documentary.

The Committee interdicted the two lecturers as investigations furthered.

Ms Amoa said the fact-finding committee is expected to report to the Committee by the end of October.

“It is possible that when they meet they may ask for an extension,” she surmised.

She said an email address as well as a telephone number has been dedicated to receive complaints.
