Nana, there was a famine in Ghana during Rawlings’s fake revolution. Many of us remember when thousands died from eating poisoned cassava roots, popularly known as Kotrobankye. The vegetation and forests mysteriously burned down. Nothing could grow. Uncooked balls of kenkey were pounced upon by starving Ghanaians. There were no drugs in the hospitals. Those were the years when Ghanaians migrated in their thousands to other countries. Yes Nana; there was famine in Ghana. Many of us don’t have short memories at all.
