oalless with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in their second Group F match of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament currently ongoing in Egypt.
The two West African Countries locked horns in a titanic encounter on Saturday evening looking for a vital 3 points that would have enhanced their chances of progressing into the knockout phase.
A very edgy first half encounter between the West African heavyweights could not produce any goal despite both sets of attackers getting into dangerous positions.
Cameroon, in particular, could have scored twice in the half but were denied by the giant Richard Ofori who was in goal for the Black Stars. Ghana’s only real chance fell to defender Kasim Nuhu whose effort disappointingly failed to find the desired target.
The Black Stars resumed the second half with more intent as they made precise decisions in search of an equalizer. The few half chances that came their way was however wasted.
Kwabena Owusu had an instant impact on the match after coming on and came close to scoring following a commendable solo run. His thunderbolt strike from just outside Cameroon’s area beat Andre Onana but rattled the frame of the crossbar which denied Ghana a goal.
The match eventually ended goalless with both sides settling for a point each.
