The Abenease VIP football club, has emerged champions in the under-13 community league match played at Akyeaman Public Park, near Amasaman, in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
They bagged nine points as against Quadjan F/C of Akyeaman, who became first runner up, with seven points followed by Shooting Stars of Odumase Amanfrom with six points.
Mr Peter Abledu Golden, the Chairman of the Ga West Municipal Football Association commended the teams for their performance and encouraged them to improve upon it, in subsequent matches.
He called on the managers of the clubs, to intensify their efforts in unearthing football talents in the municipality, which would help to prevent the youth from engaging in negative social behaviours.
He urged community members to contribute to the efforts of football clubs in their localities to develop the discipline while calling on teachers to provide timetable to allow the children to train to raise future footballers from the schools.
