Alhassan Wakaso debut goal for Vitoria Guimaraes secures league win in Portugal

Midfielder Alhassan Wakaso's first-ever league goal for Vitoria Guimaraes earned them a 1-0 win over Tondela in the Portuguese Liga on Friday night.

He opened the scoring after 18 minutes by finishing off an assist from João Afonso at the Estádio Dom Afonso Henriques.

The last time Alhassan scored in a league match was on 25 September 2016 when he got the consolation for Rio Ave in their 2-1 defeat at Paços de Ferreira.

Countryman Joseph Amoah was handed a starting role but replaced after 54 minutes by Pêpê Rodrigues.
