Amartey to watch Leicester clash with Stoke from the stands

Versatile Ghana defender Daniel Amartey is not expected to be in action for Leicester City when the Foxes host Stoke City in the English Premier League this afternoon.

The 21-year-old, who can play in any of the four backline roles and was sometimes deployed as central midfielder at Copenhagen, was unveiled by the Premier League joint-leaders on Friday.

Amartey, a former Inter Allies player from the Ghanaian league, signed a deal that will keep him at the Kings Power Stadium until January 2020.

But his life in the Premier League is likely to start from the stands on Saturday as he cannot get involved in the game for Claudio Ranieri's side due to documentation issues.

Leicester are still working to secure his work permit and other necessary clearances from the English FA which could be ready next week.

This means Amartey will watch the game alongside his international team-mate Jeffrey Schlupp who is nursing injury.
