Ghana defender Kassim Nuhu was rushed to the hospital after picking up an injury in the Bundesliga game between TSG Hoffenheim and Freiburg on Saturday.
The Black Stars defender limped off the pitch after 44 minutes of his home debut following a clash with a Freiburg midfielder.
The defender was immediately sent to the hospital where he is undergoing x-rays to determine the extent of the injury. The Ghana international could miss the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya next week.
The 23-year-old was replaced by striker Andrej Kramaric after suffering the setback with the home side a goal down.
Despite missing the Ghanaian, manager Julian Nagglesman made changes that ensured his side won by 3 goals to one.
The club confirmed the player was rushed to the hospital on their official Twitter handle and wished him the best after the major setback.
