Central in the finals of soccer at festival

Ho, Sept 13, GNA 3D Central Regional soccer team on Saturday qualified for the finals after defeating Eastern Region 4-2 on penalties in the current 23rd Inter-Regional Schools and Colleges Sports Festival taking place in Ho.

Central Region dominated the first half during which striker Samuel Incom in a solo effort, scored the opener.

Bawuah Ahmed connected home a cross from Kissi Ahadyia of Eastern Region in the 78th minute to level up matters for his side. Volta will look horns with Western on Saturday 4 p-m at Police Deport Park in a semi-finals match after beating Ashanti 3-0 on Friday during a penalty shoot out.

In the girls soccer matches, greater Accra beat Northern Region 3-0 to qualify for the finals against Western region who beat Ashanti Region.
