Ghana winger Christian Atsu believes he needs to improve his goal scoring ability after spurning a couple of chances in Newcastle United’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Wednesday night.
The inform midfield was the Magpies brightest player on the night despite a dominating performance from a rejuvenated Manchester United.
Atsu had two chances in the space of a minute but his first was a feeble shot, which was calmly collected by De Gea and the other went wide away from goal.
The former Chelsea forward, who is gradually becoming Newcastle United’s main man lamented on the missed opportunities.
"I'm getting better. I'm working hard and I am trying to give my best to the team," Atsu said after the game. "What is left for me now is to improve on the end product, my finishing," he added.
"I had a lot of chances that I could have scored. For the game, I think I should have scored some goals."
The 26-year-old had fans of Newcastle go agog after he nutmegged Manchester United most expensive signing Paul Pogba.
Atsu has now played 14 Premier League games this season for the Magpies and he is yet to score for the club in the current campaign.
