Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (GMABC) through two (2) of its subsidiaries- Happy FM and e. TV Ghana, has donated boxes of sanitizers to the Pantang Mental Hospital and the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.

The donations which were made at separate ceremonies was the company's demonstration of its commitment to help in the fight against the Coronavirus outbreak.

Happy FM made the donation to the Pantang Mental Hospital on Thursday 2nd April, while its sister station, e.TV Ghana also donated to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital on Friday 3rd of April 2020.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Global Media Alliance Group, Ernest Boateng speaking about the donation exercise said:

‘’Ghana has seen increasing cases of the COVID-19 in the last few days prompting us to join the fight, to help curb the crisis. Psychiatric patients maybe more susceptible to Covid-19, due to their mental state, poor self-control and self-care. We believe these sanitizers will assist them during this critical time we are in.

These patients need and deserve our support. GMABC as a brand promises to always be there for these health facilities. Happy FM has taken Pantang Hospital as its own and will keep supporting the facility. Use these santizers to keep yourselves and the patients safe’’, he stated.

"We are highly appreciate of the medical staff at these facilities, and felt strongly that as they are at the forefront of the fight against the scourge of the coronavirus pandemic, we as a caring brand, should show our support to them and the hospital", he added.

The Ward Manager of Pantang hospital, Alberta Twumasi, also thanked Happy FM for the kind gesture. “We are grateful to Happy FM for assisting us once again, you haven’t forgotten about us in this difficult times. You proved to us beyond reasonable doubt, that we are indeed one family. You have restored our hope, thank you. We will put these sanitizers to good use.

I want to encourage the general public to visit the hospital for treatment, because Pantang is not for persons with mental health issues only. We have a maternity clinic, dental clinic and a general Out Patient Department (OPD) that treat various illnesses”, she said.

The Principal Nursing Officer of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, Samuel Cudjoe Hanu, who received the sanitizers on behalf of the mental health facility expressed gratitude to e.TV Ghana for the kind gesture.

“We are grateful to e.TV for the support. With this gesture you have restored hope, thank you. I'll use this opportunity to encourage the general public and other organisations to emulate the steps of e.TV Ghana.

Accra Psychiatric Hospital is here to support mental health patients but we cannot do it alone, we need help and thanks to e.TV Ghana for showing the way", he said.
