CSKA Sofia winger Edwin Gyasi has revealed he stole money to purchase boots while growing up.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed a fabolous career playing for a number of top clubs in Europe including De Graafschap, FC Twente, Heracles Almelo, Roda JC Kerkrade and Aalesund.

Gyasi's performance has earned him international call-up for Ghana where he has scored once in five caps for the powerful West African nation.

And the wideman, who is currently in the books of Bulgarian giants CSKA, has revealed he stole money to but boots while growing up.

"In this type of neighborhood where I grew up, there are only two ways: either you go left or you go to the right, or the right or wrong way," he said

"The boys I grew up with ... some of them are no longer alive because the neighborhood was hard to live.

"It was not just a neighborhood but a hard place. Bad things were happening there. But I had strict parents, especially my father.

"It prevented us from going through the streets. We did not have the money to buy football shoes, we had to steal them wherever we go."

The Ghanaian has scored four goals in 38 appearances for CSKA since joining.
