The new head coach of Egyptian club Pyramids FC Ehab Galal has told the club not to allow striker John Antwi leave.
The former Sekondi Eleven Wise player is one of the most prolific attackers in Egyptian football in recent years having produced impressive numbers at Ismaily, Al Ahly, Misr El-Makkasa, and Pyramids.
With 77 goals in the Egyptian Premier League, Antwi sits top on the list of all-time foreign top goalscorers; however, he struggled this season with Pyramids as he failed to score a single goal in 16 league games.
After becoming fed up with his situation at Pyramids, it was reported that Antwi was nearing a club exit, with Ittihad of Alexandria being his next destination.
And Pyramids were actually willing to let go of the striker they signed in 2019 for $1.5 million.
However, Galal, appointed last Saturday following the sacking of Takis Gonias, believes Antwi will rediscover his form and has thus instructed the club to keep him for next season.
Antwi signed a five-year contract with Pyramids and earns $600,000 per season.
