French side Lille Métropole join Girona, Villarreal in race to sign Baba Rahman

Lille Métropole's pursuit of a new left back has continued with Baba Rahman as their primary transfer target in the ongoing winter transfer window, according to reports in France.

With Schalke cutting short Baba's loan six months early, the Ghana left-back is fielding new offers from across Europe.

The 24-year-old is reported to have opened discussions with Spanish La Liga sides Villarreal and Girona.

And reports in the UK indicate that Chelsea are willing to let Baba move out on a temporary deal again this month.

French tabloid Revier Sport claim that Lille are the latest club to express interest in a loan deal.

Lille coach Christophe Galtier is hoping tie a deal for Baba to provide a competition for French youngster Fode Ballo Toure.

Baba made 4 appearances in all competitions for Schalke 04 in the first round of the campaign.
