On behalf of the Executive Council of the GFA, I wish to extend a warm message of goodwill to all clubs who will participate in the 2019/2020 Division One League.

As the nation’s second tier football competition kicks off this weekend, we are of the conviction that clubs are prepared adequately for a very exciting football season.

After the training workshop held for Division One Clubs ahead of the season, we are hopeful that clubs will uphold professionalism throughout the season and abide by the new Division One League Regulations.

The Division One League is noted not only for its competitiveness, but also for unearthing talents from across the country and we are hoping that the Division One platform will continue to offer more footballers opportunities and also produce exciting talents.

We have seen the excitement with which Ghanaians welcomed the topflight league and we are hopeful that the return of the second tier league will bring enthusiasm throughout the length and breadth of the country.

The GFA therefore, calls on Clubs, Club officials, players, referees and all stakeholders to help create a welcoming environment at all match venues. We also call on football loving fans to throng the various stadia, #BringBackTheLove and offer the maximum support to your respective, beloved local clubs.

On our part, the GFA wishes to assure all clubs that we are working round the clock in our quest to secure sponsorship for the Division One League and we are confident that very soon, we will receive positive news.

The GFA also assures Clubs that together with the Division One League Committee, we will come up with many innovative measures in our bid to make this season a very exciting one.

It is a new beginning in Ghana football and we wish all 48 clubs the best of luck in the season. May the best and deserving clubs emerge as winners of the three zones.

Thank you and Sporting Regards.
