Ghanaian athlete Allah Laryea-Akrong dies of leukemia at age 35

Former Ghanaian athlete, Allah Laryea-Akrong has been confirmed dead in the United States of America (USA).

Laryea-Akrong is believed to have died of leukemia on December 3, 2018. He passed on at age 35.

Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) in confirming the death of Laryea-Ankrong, expressed its deepest condolences to the family of former national athlete.

After graduating from Ghanata Senior High School, Allah served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Accra, Ghana (2005–2007).

He later attended Utah Valley University (2008–2013) on a Track and Field scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Technology Management.

Fury As a gifted athlete, Allah ran for the Ghana National Team and excelled in the 100m and 200m events.

Allah holds two UVU Track and Field records as well as Top-10 All-Time Performances in seven events.

Lareyea-Akrong is survived by his wife Megan; their daughter Lily and his parents Laryea and Mercy Laryea-Akrong.
