Director-General of Ghana's State Interest and Governance Authority (SIGA), Ambassador Edward Boateng has outlined his vision for the organization as he intends to make the authority a “center of excellence”.

In an exclusive interview with Samuel Eshun, host of e.tv Ghana’s Fact Sheet social political talk show he indicated that he hopes to make state institutions attractive to Ghanaian youth and enable more brainpower to work in the public sector.

"My goal is to make SIGA a center of excellence," Ambassador Boateng stated. "I want young people coming up in universities to see SIGA as the place to go if they want to work in the public sector. I believe that if we can train and equip them to manage and evaluate state entities effectively, we will see a change down the line."

According to Ambassador Boateng, SIGA is already attracting top talents and he is confident that the organization can become a model for other public sector entities in Ghana.

"When you look at the sort of resumes and CVs we're getting, people are beginning to take note," he explained. "A lot of young people want to come here, and when you go around you see the sort of brainpower that we are pulling into SIGA."

Ambassador Boateng emphasized the importance of training and development in ensuring that SIGA's employees are equipped to carry out their roles effectively. He also noted that his time as CEO is limited, but he is committed to making the most of his tenure to promote excellence within SIGA and the broader public sector.

"I'm here for a very short time, but I want to make a lasting impact," he said. "I want to create a culture of excellence within SIGA that will endure long after I'm gone."

Ambassador Boateng's vision for SIGA highlights the importance of attracting top talent and providing effective training and development opportunities in the public sector. His efforts could help transform the public sector in Ghana and promote economic growth and development in the country.
