Asante Kotoko will be gaining a combined fee of $300,000 from the sale of midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei and right back Yaw Frimpong to Congolese side TP Mazembe, footy-Ghana.com can exclusively confirm.
The duo last month travelled to complete their part of the bargain with the Congolese champions and footy-Ghana.com can authoritatively reveal both players will join the club at a $150,000 transfer fee each for two years.
The extra $100,000 is a pledge TP Mazembe, Moise Katumbi Chapwe made to support the development of youth football at Asante Kotoko.
This flaws an earlier report of a $400,000 transfer fee for the reigning Ghana Premier League Most Valuable Player.
FootyGhana can also reveal that both Nii Adjei and Yaw Frimpong did not have their scheduled medical tests with Mazembe contrary to reports in some media quarters. The duo arrived in Lubumbashi last month at a time when the Mazembe squad had left for their CAF Champions League semi-finals clash away to Esperance of Tunisia. The duo will soon leave Ghana to complete this aspect of their transfer.
A 10% commission will go to the agency which brokered the deal as well as another of the same percentage will go to the Ghana Football Association upon request for the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) for both players to enable them start their new life in Congo.
