Asante Kotoko have been handed a massive boost with the surprise recovery of their crooked winger Emmanuel Gyamfi.
The winger picked up an ankle injury after scoring Kotoko’s second goal against Nkana a week ago and was initially ruled out of the game for two weeks.
But the player, on Friday afternoon trained with the rest of his teammates as they prepare to face Al Hilal on Sunday.
Reacting on the surprise return of the player C. K. Akonnor hinted, the player’s chance of playing on Sunday is 50/50 as the medical team will continue to access him.
“We are still accessing Emmanuel Gyamfi’s fitness whether he can play on Sunday but it’s 50/50 for us to play him and for now our squad is small because of injuries,” he told Light FM.
Gyamfi’s return will be a huge relief for the Porcupine Warriors as he has scored 3 goals in the CAF Confederation Cup so far.
