Disqualified Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential aspirant, Mr Wilfred Kweku Osei alias Palmer has paid a whooping amount of $48,000 to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to force GFA election case to go ahead.
The Football Association refused to pay 22,000 Euros so per the rules, Palmer decided to pay both so that the hearing can go ahead so in effect he has paid 44, 000 Euros which is $48,000.
With the payment now complete hearing will be held without the GFA, The hearing panel will be formed and ruling will be given whether Palmer was illegally excluded from the race.
If he wins, CAS can order for the elections to be held all over again. CAS appeal arbitration procedures involve an exchange of written submissions between the parties while a Panel of CAS arbitrators is being convened.
Once the Panel has been formally constituted it issues procedural directions, including, inter alia, with respect to the holding of a hearing.
Following the hearing, the Panel deliberates and then issues its decision in the form of an Arbitral Award.
It is not possible to indicate at this time when a final award in this matter will be issued.
