The Emergency Medical Technicians Association of Ghana, EMTAG, has expressed worry about the unwillingness of some hospitals and the general public to give full information about a patient when they call the Ambulance Service for emergency attention.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, the President of EMTAG, Michael Gaani Dimongso, said the dispatch emergency teams that are sent out on distress calls return with the complaint of people refusing to give full details of a patient to them, making it difficult for the team to know the appropriate response to give at a particular time.

Also, it puts the medical team’s lives at risk, especially in these times of Coronavirus outbreak.

He said the Ambulance Service and EMTAG personnel are well equipped to undertake any assignment but need the cooperation of the public to successfully execute their mandate in cases of emergency.
