Ghana faces Tunisia at the Ismaila Stadium for their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 clashes on Monday evening.

The Black stars secured top spot in Group F of the Africa Cup of Nations as they defeated Guinea-Bissau in their final group game to leapfrog Cameroon by virtue of scoring a greater number of goals.

The Black Stars are brimming up with confidence after their comfortable win against Guinea Bissau last Tuesday.

Ghana’s coach Kwesi Appiah has warned his players against underestimating Tunisia, who came second in Group E behind Mali.

“All our minds are on the game against Tunisia because we need to win the game on Monday so that we can think about other opponents.

“Every team in the tournament is well prepared and ready to win the trophy so we will not underrate any opponent we meet in the tournament.”

Despite failing to win a single game in the group phase, Tunisia progressed with Mali face a Ghana side who have been improving with every match.

After two poor showings against Mali and Angola, Tunisia made it a hat-trick of disappointing efforts as they failed to find a way past Mauritania with their lack of form a real concern heading into the knockout stages.

Despite the poor form of his side, Alain Giresse insisted Tunisia are ready to target Ghana’s “weak points” as the two sides meet on Monday evening.

“Ghana is a strong and harmonious team. They are complete in most of the positions, but we will analyze them well and we can work on their weak points.”

A lot of attention will be on Wahbi Khazri who is a threat at dead-ball situations.

It will be the eighth game between Ghana and Tunisia in the Africa Cup of Nations. The Carthage Eagles are the Black Stars’ favourite opposition in the tournament, having faced them the most without losing (W6, D1)

Kassim Nuhu is back to the side after serving a one-game suspension.

Kwesi Appiah received a massive boost to the news of return Of Jonathan Mensah after sitting out against Guinea-Bissau.

Thomas Agyapong who sustained an injury against Benin is also back training with his teammates.

Afriyie Acquah is expected to start against the Carthage Eagles after an impressive Cameo against Guinea-Bissau.

For Tunisia,

Ghilane Chaalali could return to starting XI after serving a suspension in their 0-0 draw against Mauritania.

Alan Giresse is likely to maintain Mouez Hassen following a good performance against Mauritania.
