Accra, April 15, GNA - Premier League side, Real Tamale United (RTU) Sporting Club has sounded a warning to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) that it will not honour its league matches at the Bolgatanga Park this football season if they are compelled to do so.

Mr Jones Abu Alhassan, Board Secretary and Accra Representative of the club who made the statements at the Annual Congress of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) said they are going back to the Kaladan Park in Tamale for this year's premiership since they cannot afford to incur further losses at the Bolgatanga Park.

" We were asked to stop using the park for renovation exercise to be undertaken and for two years now nothing significant has gone on at the place and do they expect us remain at Bolgatanga,? " Mr Abu Alhassan questioned.

He said playing at Bolgatanga, apart from denying the club its loyal supporters also has a physical effect on the performance of the team and players since they have to travel over a long distance almost every week to honour league matches both home and away.

Mr Abu Alhassan said because the club has to travel almost every week to honour their matches, the frequent travels has also had its effect on their only bus.

He said they are going to resist any attempt by any organ to stop them from using the Kaladan Park since it is a drain on their finances and is a disillusionment to their teeming home fans.

The Board Secretary said the management of the team is able to have an effective check on their gate proceeds and to also control their supporters at the Kaladan Park but this is not the situation at the Bolgatanga Park where they are seen as strangers.

Speaking to the GNA Sports later, Mr Abu Alhassan said the club is tired of waiting for the completion of the project and wondered when the authorities will expedite action to make it available for use by the team and other Colts teams in the Tamale Municipality.

"We must play at our natural home grounds for our fans to have a feel of the team, for no one can ask Hearts or Kotoko to play their matches outside the Accra or Kumasi Sports Stadiums.
