Highly-talented Ghanaian youth star Francis Abu was named the best player at the just-ended J-League Youth tournament in Japan after helping his side Right to Dream Academy to lift the title.

The youngster was judged the most influential player in the one-week tournament as they defeated South Korean side Ulsan Hyundai 2-0 in the final on Sunday to win the tournament.

Abu scored both goals in the final to the help the Akosombo-based to clinch the title, ending the eight-team competition without being defeated.

Right to Dream were named the best team of the competition while three of their players were among the top scorers in the competition.

Chukwumeka, Marc Oliver and Francis Abu were the second top scorers in the competition with two goals each while Brown Noah Kenshin of Japanese side Yokohama Marinos won the award with three goals.

"Congratulations to Right to Dream for winning the tournament. They showed charming football that is made of great dribbling ability, physical strength, speed and speed in passing the ball," Murai Mitsuru, the chairman of the J-League tournament said.

"They showed great discipline on and off the field. All the players have also shown that young players from the J-League can become important international players in future."

Right to Dream players are expected to arrive in Ghana in Christmas Day to celebrate the festival with their families after spending the pre-festivities in Japan.

The Christmas will be enhanced thanks to their winning of the J-League tournament.
