Communication Director for Aduana Stars FC Evans Oppong has hit back at Kofi Manu who is popularly known in the football cycles as “blue boy”.
The two have been engaging in a heated media exchange regarding which teams should be made to represent Ghana in Africa if the current campaign is truncated.
Kofi Manu posits that the laws of the FA dictate that Kotoko and Ashgold will get the nod but Evans Oppong insists Aduana stars won the 2017 premier league and since the NC tournament which was played last season was not premier league, Aduana has to represent Ghana in Africa.
“We have listened to Kofi Manu’s argument claiming Aduana do not qualify to represent Ghana in the next CAF Inter-club competition. It wasn’t a surprising hearing he’s gotten an appointment at Ashantigold, for the first time he wants to go to Africa” Evans told Kumasi FM.
“Referring to all the articles he quoted, it is not applicable in our situation. We played a league this season and have the legitimacy to represent Ghana because we are the current leaders on the log. Article 78 of the GFA regulations clearly backs us if the executive council truncates the league.
Kofi Manu must understand that some of us are also learned,I did BSC Administration which included business and cooperate law. I am young but have enough experience in football. At age 22,I owned a club(Dormaa Kyenkyenkye) which was solely financed by myself and went through hell to qualify from division two to one in just two years. I was referred to as the youngest chairman then,I historically reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Kofi Manu is not better than me at Aduana stars,I have passed through the ranks in the club to become the spokesperson.”
