The spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has disclosed that his outfit has been trying their best to ensure that Black Stars coach Otto Addo’s salary arrears are settled.

According to him, the GFA have been holding several meetings with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to pay the arrears, but their efforts have not been fruitful.

He also noted that the GFA have been piling pressure on the ministry by sending numerous reminders about the debt, but there has not been any positive feedback.

Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, Asante Twum stated that Otto Addo is calm with the situation as the GFA puts in efforts to get the arrears settled.

“Yes, it is true we owe him [Otto Addo]. The last time I checked, there were some salaries in arrears, thus four months if we add December 2023. The number of meetings we have had with the ministry and the reminders we have served them, you have no idea. He knows sometimes it is difficult, but we are still working on it,” he said in Twi.

Otto Addo’s future remains undecided as the GFA engages in extensive consultation to determine his fate.

Otto Addo's job is in danger after failing to qualify the Black Stars for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
